Ok, perhaps the blogosphere can help with this one. I've been trying to respond to an email from Tor Norbye at Sun Microsystems since Sunday. Unfortunately, my emails seem to be shuffled off into the ether. He sent another email to me today, saying he hasn't heard back from me.
Tor! I'm right here! Give me an alternate way to contact you...your Sun address seems to be kaput.
You could try javaposse@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI did email JavaPosse, and they said that should reach him...but my trust in email has been damaged! Hopefully Tor will find an alternate way to get in touch with me, because I'm running out of ideas.
ReplyDeleteThis is a 6 year old page, but you could try his stanford email as a last resort:
ReplyDeletetor@cs.stanford.edu
He graduated from Stanford in '96 but the lastmod date on the page with that email is 2000 so, if he'd left it in place as long as 4 years post-grad, then it may still be live.

Cool, thanks. I tried another email with those additional addresses. Hopefully something will get through!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I'm here. Thanks everybody for the additional clues. I don't know what's going on with the normal mail account (which unfortunately all the other accounts redirect to); I seem to be getting most e-mails, but apparently the spam filter or something else is being overly aggressive. I've had a lot of difficulty getting e-mails from Dick Wall in the past... Charles, I sent you my gmail e-mail address, tor.norbye.
ReplyDeleteHuzzah! The blogosphere to the rescue! I've managed to connect with Tor on a different email address, and all is right with the world.
ReplyDeleteSince it's fun to forecast things sometime, here's what my chrystal ball says:
ReplyDeleteFact 1: Charles Oliver said on this blog that things are on the change and that as a result he'll have more time to work on jruby.
Fact 2: He's getting in touch with a senior staff engineer at sun.
Chrystal hope: At least Sun is not giving away dynamic languages on virtual machines to clr/net for nothing... Man that was about time that you are getting your head out of the butt of the ohhhssooo enterprisy enterprise with their lame elephant weblogics and webspheres...
Cheers,
Jan Prill
